River Crossed!

Mom, surrounded by her children....
Newly arrived in the celestial city.
Safe in the arms of Jesus.
I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.
They will come in and go out, and find pasture.  The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;
I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
John 10: 9-10
But now, this is what the LORD says -- he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name;
you are mine.
When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you...."
Isaiah 43

To all who have loved this woman along with us -
our sincere gratitude
for your faithful friendship and loving care.
God is very very good.
(p.s. He was so gentle too!)

  2. Pain and suffering are no more - her soul is at rest. So thankful that you were able to be with your Mom as she met her Savior. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you as you lay your mom to rest.
    "For none of us lives to himself alone, and none of us dies to himself alone. If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord" Romans 14:7,8

  3. Thank-you Lilly .... you manage to dig up the absolute most perfectly applicable scripture to share once again. I hope you do not mind that I've edited my post to share it with everyone else too!
    Thank-you sweet Susie! Perhaps you know personally as well, the remarkable privilege of kissing someone goodbye, waving them on from the riverbank?
    Your thoughts and prayers are sincerely appreciated.

  5. When I read your passages I begin to wonder how we can even mourn for those who have passed however human nature persists and the love we feel for them overcomes. It is our loss that we mourn not their gain. Praise the Lord for providing us this comfort. I will be praying for you as you celebrate her life with family and friends. With love, Yolanda

  7. "...for the LORD has heard my weeping. he LORD has heard my cry for mercy; the LORD accepts my prayer." Psalm 6: 8, 9

    We weep not for your Mother, she has been promoted from her suffering to everlasting peace and joy. But we weep for those of you left behind, as you go on without her. May the same Lord who heard your prayers and healed your Mother comfort you and your family with His Spirit. May He surround you with His loving arms as you continue here in this vale of tears.

    Thank you for sharing your experiences. It was an honour to "know" your Mother. <>

  10. Mrs. Ina Vanderkruk...as one of the Vanderlaans who grew up at 711 Robson Road, she was very much part of our lives...particularly as a close friend of our Mom (Siny). The times she took Mom grocery shopping, the two of them sitting and chatting over a cup of coffee, the many concerts and other functions they attended together are too numerous to count! It's hard to grasp her passing...all of my siblings and I have lumps in our throat I'm sure...and yet we grieve not without hope! God has given His Word in which so many, many words are our anchor in times of sorrow.

    To Mrs. Vanderkruk's children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, may you find comfort with Paul's words from Romans 8:38-39
    "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

    On behalf of the Vanderlaan family,
    Duane Vanderlaan
